Matchmaking Portal Devices

You can use the Matchmaking Portal to create a portal that warps players from one island to another. You can make a game that crosses multiple islands, and use these portals to get players from one to the other. You can also use portals to build a hub on each of your islands that displays all your creations and gives players the opportunity to try them out.

If you have active matchmaking portals on your island, players will now see the full-screen Activity Details screen just as they would in the Multi-product Lobby. Also, if a player's account has Parent controls active, a parent can unlock islands from this Activity Details screen just like they can do from the Multi-product Lobby.

Finding and Placing the Device

1. From Create mode, press the Tab key to open the Creative inventory screen.
2. Click the Devices tab. You can scroll to select the device, use the Search box to look up the device by name, or check the Informational category in the panel on the left.
3. Click PLACE NOW to place immediately, or put the device in the QUICK BAR to place later.
4. Press Esc to return to your island in Create mode. Use your phone to position the device, then click to place it. Press Esc to detach the device from your phone tool.
5. Point at the device with your phone. If the Customize popup doesn't open immediately, move closer until it does, then press E to open the Customize panel.
