The rules of the island

1. Who may use Verse Island

Verse Island is a learning platform for UEFN and Verse development. It is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required in your country) to create an account or use member features. Signing in requires a Discord account, and Discord itself enforces the same minimum age. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we will close it and delete its personal data.

2. Accounts

You sign in with Discord; your access tier comes from your roles in our Discord server. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your Discord credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time from your account page, which permanently erases your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or create risk for us or other users.

3. Content ownership & licences

Our content — Verse Island's original lessons, guides, articles, videos, artwork, and site design are © Biloxi Studios Inc. Use them for your own learning and your own UEFN/Verse projects; do not republish or redistribute them as a competing collection. Third-party content — Epic Games documentation, community snippets, the Verse Language Book, and permissively-licensed GitHub code each keep their own attribution and licence, described in full on Sources & Licensing. Creator videos featured on video-companion pages remain the property of their creators (see Section 6). Rights remain with the original owners. Code you download — Verse code we author and provide for download may be used freely in your own islands and projects, including commercial ones. Attribution is appreciated, never required.

4. Community contributions

Content you submit remains yours, and you are always credited as the author. By submitting, you grant Biloxi Studios Inc. a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, publish, distribute, publicly display and perform, create derivative works from, use to train and improve AI/ML models and features, and otherwise use and commercialise your contribution and works derived from it, in any media now known or later developed. You confirm the contribution is yours to share and does not infringe anyone else's rights. Contributors are recognised through author credit and the platform's credit / rewards system. If you delete your account, published contributions are retained under this licence but anonymised (or kept attributed, at your request).

5. Social publishing & connected accounts (including TikTok)

Verse Island can, at your direction, transmit videos to a social account you connect (for example TikTok, via TikTok's Content Posting API). Connecting is optional and authorized by you on the platform's own consent screen; the platform's own terms and community guidelines apply to everything posted there. You may only direct us to post content you have the rights to post, and you are responsible for the content of posts made to your connected account. You authorize us to transmit the specific video, caption, privacy level, and interaction settings you choose; we act only on your instruction, and you can disconnect at any time (Privacy Policy §2), which stops all posting immediately. We may suspend a connection for abuse, platform-policy violations, or where the platform requires it.

6. Video companions, embedded videos, and creator content

Some guides on Verse Island are video companions: our own original written explainer published alongside a creator's YouTube tutorial, so you can watch the original and read a structured, searchable version of what it teaches.

• The video stays the creator's. We embed it using YouTube's own player — we never re-host, re-upload, or monetize the video itself. Playback is provided by YouTube and governed by YouTube's Terms of Service.
• Attribution everywhere. Every companion page names the creator, links to the original video and channel, and invites you to watch and subscribe. Featuring a creator's video does not mean the creator endorses Verse Island.
• Screenshots and code, shared as a free community benefit. A companion page may provide a small number of screenshots from the video and, when possible, compile-verified Verse code based on what the video showed — or our own interpretation of it, since code on screen is often incomplete, partly hidden, or won't compile exactly as shown. It's what any fan would do after watching a great tutorial: take a few screenshots, write up what it taught, and point everyone at the original — always with credit and an easy way to follow the creator. Sharing like that — limited, credited, for learning — is what U.S. copyright law calls fair use (17 U.S.C. § 107), and that's what we rely on.
• Transcribed code is marked. Code we transcribe from a video carries a "transcribed from [creator]" provenance label. Where our automated compile check verified it, it is presented as working code; where it could not be verified, it is marked "transcribed, unverified" and shown as an image or draft only.
• The written companion is ours. The explainer text, structure, quizzes, and compile-verified original Verse examples on a companion page are © Biloxi Studios Inc. (Section 3). The creator's video, code, and channel content remain the creator's.
• Creators are in control. If your video is featured and you want it changed or removed, use the opt-out link on the page or email [email protected] — no formal legal notice needed. We remove companion material promptly. Formal takedown requests are handled under our Copyright & Takedown policy.
• Don't rip the embeds. You may not use Verse Island to download, extract, or redistribute an embedded video or its content in ways YouTube's terms or the creator's rights don't allow.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: scrape or bulk-download gated content or third-party archived material; abuse credits, referral codes, quizzes, or API keys (including automation to farm them); probe, overload, or disrupt the service; submit unlawful or infringing content; misrepresent your identity or affiliation; or use the service to violate any law or third-party right (including Epic's and TikTok's terms).

8. Credits & tiers

Platform credits are a feature of the service, not money or property — they have no cash value, cannot be transferred or redeemed, and may be adjusted if granted in error or obtained through abuse. Access tiers derive from Discord roles and may change. We may add, change, or retire features; where a change materially reduces a paid tier's features, we will give reasonable notice.

Verse Island is provided "as is" and "as available." It is an educational resource: while our published Verse code is compile-verified at authoring time, UEFN and Verse change frequently, and we do not warrant that any code, lesson, or reference is error-free, current, or fit for your particular project. Third-party content is presented as archived reference and may lag its source. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services (Discord, TikTok, Epic Games, Cloudflare).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Biloxi Studios Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Verse Island. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Changes, governing law, contact

We may update these Terms; changes are posted here with an updated date, and material changes get advance notice on the site. Continued use after a change takes effect is acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute relating to the service belongs exclusively to the state and federal courts located in Biloxi, Mississippi (Harrison County), whose jurisdiction you consent to.
